Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The comprehensive policy consists of both third-party and own damage (OD) policies. And at HDFC ERGO, you can go for a multi-year policy if you wish to avoid renewal hassle every year.
A standard own – damage or comprehensive policy will not cover the cost of damage to your bike due to depreciation or normal wear and tear due to aging. This includes damage to tyres, tubes, certain plastic and metal parts. You need to pay for repair or replacement of these parts out of your own pocket. But if you buy a zero-depreciation add-on cover with additional premium, the depreciation cost will also get covered. Go through the policy document to know about the extent of cover a zero-depreciation policy would provide before you finalise the purchase. Note that you can buy this cover if you have a standalone OD policy or comprehensive policy. If you only have a TP cover, you are not eligible to buy add-on policies.
Your NCB discount will be valid till a certain period if you miss your renewal. Immediately check with your insurer regarding the time of expiry of NCBs and renew your policy at the earliest. If you miss the deadline, you may lose the NCB benefits or discounts on your renewal premium.
To buy an RSA cover, you need a standalone OD policy or a comprehensive policy. This is the initial requirement. Under this policy, you can get help if your bike breaks down in the middle of the road or faces minor hiccups.
