Steps to Update Your Motor Insurance Policy

Transfer of Insurance - If the Registration Certificate (RC) is Transferred

  • Transferred Registration Certificate (RC) Copy
  • Additional Premium would be required from new owner if there is any NCB.
  • Additional Documents:
  • Death certificate would be required in addition to be above mentioned documents for Transfer of insurance on account of demise of Insured.
  • In case Transfer of Vehicle from Employer (Company) to Employee (Insured Person) , No Objection Certificate (NOC) on Company’s Letterhead with below 2 details:
    -- 1. No objection to transfer No Claim Bonus (NCB)
    -- 2. No objection to transfer policy
  • Request Online Click Here

Transfer of Insurance - If the Registration Certificate (RC) is Not Transferred

  • Form No. 29 and 30 duly filled and signed OR RTO Transfer fee receipt
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from previous Insured for transfer of policy
  • Additional Premium would be required from new owner if there is any NCB.
  • Additional Documents:
  • Death certificate would be required in addition to be above mentioned documents for Transfer of insurance on account of demise of Insured.
  • In case Transfer of Vehicle from Employer (Company) to Employee (Insured Person) , No Objection Certificate (NOC) on Company’s Letterhead with below 2 details ;
    -- 1. No objection to transfer No Claim Bonus (NCB)
    -- 2. No objection to transfer policy

Change Of Engine / Chassis No

  • Updated RC copy OR Invoice of the vehicle
  • For New Vehicle:
  • Dealer letter stating insured vehicle (mentioning EC details of the insured vehicle) not delivered.
  • Vehicle Invoice mentioning the proposed Engine/Chassis details

Change in Cubic Capacity

  • RC copy reflecting cubic capacity
  • Additional premium, if applicable

Change/Correction of Registration Address

  • RC Copy
  • Premium if applicable (Registration City wise)

Change Of DOB

  • Any Govt. ID proof (PAN/ Passport/ Voter ID etc).
  • Additional premium, if applicable

Change Of RTO Location City

  • RC Copy, request letter, premium instrument (Fee receipt paid to RTO)

Addition/Change of Hypothecation

  • Copy of updated Registration Certificate (RC) where Revised Financier name is mentioned
  • To make changes Click Here

Deletion of Hypothecation

  • Transferred RC (with copy of that page where financier details are captured - valid for RC in form of booklet) / NOC from Financier (either of these)
  • In case financier is HDFC Bank NOC is mandate. In case of hypothecation from other bank updated RC copy or NOC from financier either of these

Change of Model Variant

  • Copy of Updated Rc /Invoice copy for change in vehicle details.
  • Cheque for additional premium if applicable

Change in NCB%

  • Previous year policy copy (if with other insurer)

Addition of CNG

  • Invoice copy (mandatory where value of accessory exceeds of Rs. 20,000/-)
  • Endorsed Registration Certificate copy (For CNG/LPG kit).
  • Cheque for additional premium

  • Invoice copy of electronic accessories/ non-electronic accessories
