Vespa Two Wheeler Insurance

Vespa, manufactured by Piaggio, is an Italian luxury brand of scooter. Despite facing several ups and downs, it has come a long way from being a single model motor scooter in 1946 by Piaggio & Co, Italy, to a full line of scooters. Now, it is one of the seven companies owned by Piaggio. Right from their inception, Vespa scooters have been known for their painted, pressed steel body combined in a unified structural unit, a whole cowling for the engine, a flat floorboard, and a prominent front fairing that provides wind protection. Later, Piaggio filed a patent for the Vespa scooter design in April 1946, and the patent was approved.

In 1960, Piaggio first partnered with Bajaj Auto to produce Vespa scooters in India. But after a decade, due to some political reasons, Piaggio's license was not granted a renewal. Later, Vespa again partnered with LML Motors, and it produced the P-Series scooters for the Indian market, but in 1999 due to a dispute, this partnership also ceased. Later, in the 2012 Auto Expo held in New Delhi, Piaggio unveiled its range of premium scooters. This time, the iconic Vespa re-entered the Indian market without any local partner and slowly regained popularity.

Post the Covid-19 pandemic, Piaggio India has introduced its e-commerce platforms with exclusive online stores for its iconic brand Vespa, and this has been an instant hit amongst its loyalties. Using the Vespa Connectivity App, users can now access their scooter’s details, service history, last-parked location, etc.
