7 Ways to Improve Tata Nexon EV Cars in India

How to Improve Nexon EV Cars

With the rise in fuel prices on a daily basis, the need for eco-friendly as well as budget-friendly travel options has been a requirement in today’s world. This is where electric vehicles or EVs have made their mark! In India also, the craze for electric vehicles has gone up and thus so has the supply.

Tata has already launched our country’s first-ever electronic car- Tata Nexon EV. It is already taking a toll on the regular car market. Although this car has improved a lot to the needs of the Indian market, there is still more to improve. People are still skeptical to buy this car because of damage and maintenance issues. One way to break this stigma is to motivate people to consider Tata insurance to cover the cost of damage in case of any unforeseen event. Apart from this, a few more key features are to be worked upon to make it even more customer-friendly.

Here are seven ways to make the Tata Nexon EV even better-

1. Resolve Range anxiety:

To consider an electric car, one will look for its range. Range means how far can it go with the battery charged to its maximum capacity. Currently, it is claimed that the range of this EV is around 300 KMs as per the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), but the actual range is between 200-250 Kms. It might touch even lower than that in the city traffic. Thus there is a resistance to buying this car.

A buyer will surely hesitate to buy a car which does not give him the confidence for long road travels. This feature is even more important for frequent road travellers. It is risky to use this vehicle for long travels with this range. Thus the range should be improved.

2. Battery issues:

To gain a buyer's confidence, an electric car should have excellent battery performance. Currently, many Tata Nexon EV owners face a lot of battery troubles, including low performance, heating issues, sudden exhaustion of battery to the lowest limit, etc. Although customer care services are in place to help resolve these issues, still there is a need to improve battery performance. Not only this, but the ready availability of battery is also necessary for someone to consider this car.

3. Charging of the battery:

Being an electronic car, the time taken for the battery to be charged fully from zero initial limit matters a lot for buyers. The present 30.2kWh battery pack of Tata Nexon EV takes around 10 hrs to charge fully starting from zero. It means a user has to wait overnight to drive this car, especially for a longer distance. This is one strong reason that makes people resistant to considering Tata Nexon EV for interstate travel.

Thus there is a lot of room to improve the charging time and the battery performance of this car. Not only this, the charging points are still limited. There are a few charging stations available in even the metro cities.

Now with this scenario, if a person from a non-metro city thinks to buy an electric car, he will have to face a lot of challenges to charge the battery of this car. There is still a lack of charging stations. If charging stations are available easily just like the petrol pumps, the buyers will become more confident to consider the electric cars.

4. Price consideration:

Before considering a car, a buyer surely thinks about his pocket. One time prices plus the maintenance, both are extremely crucial for a buyer to decide between a normal car versus an electric car.

Where Tata Nexon's price starts from Rs 7 lakhs, this EV version of Tata Nexon starts from 14 lakhs. It is double the price of a normal car. The features, fuel cost, safe for the environment, etc things are certainly attractive but still, it is too expensive. Especially for the middle-class people, it is heavy on pockets.

Reducing its price may attract more buyers, especially from this medium income group of our society. The government may give subsidies or other benefits, but even then, the prices should be lower enough to match the budget of the common people.

5. More colour options:

The Colour options of a car matter a lot. In a country like India, there are many religious beliefs related to colours, moreover, everyone wants a wide variety of colours to choose from.

Thus a car should come in a variety of colours. White, blue and black are very basic options to look in a car. Tata group should work on more colour options to make it even more attractive for common people. Like other cars, more colours should be added to the series of Tata Nexon EV.

6. Awareness about EVs:

Although our Government is motivating people to buy electric vehicles by offering them subsidies, the market is lacking promotions to inspire people to consider an electric car. In this context more offers, promotions, subsidies and benefits should be offered to make Tata Nexon EV more budget-friendly. People should not hesitate to buy an electric vehicle just for the sake of money. Matching the budget of these electric cars would allure the middle-income group towards this car.

7. Car insurance:

When we intend to buy a car, we think about the long term. We think about all the possible hurdles that will come with a four-wheeler. It includes the maintenance and the damage costs. Car insurance is known to overcome these unexpected events. Even if a buyer decides to choose this car, there would still be the anxiety of its maintenance and damage cost. Regular insurance is not enough to provide this confidence to a buyer.

Tata Insurance is certainly a trustworthy brand for people. If someone is assured to get good insurance with multiple features of car damage, the decision of buying any car is made easier. Thus one should choose Tata Insurance for more diverse damage and accident cover with fewer premium plans, especially for Tata Nexon EV.

Conclusion

In nutshell, we can say that there is no doubt that the Tata Nexon EV is the new revolution in the world of cars, yet there is a lot of work needed to make it the best and the first choice of people. The aerodynamics of a car should not be neglected.

Although this car is known to have an overall average aerodynamics and body roll on the roads, there is still a lot of room for improvement of the same. Better colour options, added promotions and offers, better battery performance, price reduction, range assurance, and technical support are the key features to make this car even better.

Apart from them, the most important feature to be worked upon is insurance. Especially with car insurance like Tata Insurance, Tata Nexon EV would be the future of the upcoming world of electric cars.
