How to Register Vehicles at RTO Vadodara?

    Vehicle registration at RTO Vadodara can be done online, offline, or through the dealer of the vehicle on your behalf in case of new vehicles. A new vehicle is registered at the RTO, where the owner of the vehicle resides or has a place of business. You can either visit the local RTO or make an application online for your vehicle registration. Here are the simple steps to register vehicles at RTO Vadodara:

    • Download application Form 20 online or collect it from the local RTO

    • Duly fill and sign the Application Form

    • Visit the local RTO with the filled form, relevant documents, and the new vehicle that you want to register

    • Submit the form and the documents at the RTO counter, pay the registration fees as applicable to your vehicle, and pay the tax amount at the cash counter.

    • The RTO Superintendent would then scrutinize and inspect the submitted document

    • The inspector of the RTO would inspect your vehicle before providing the registration certificate

    • The RTO office would enter the details of the vehicle in its central database for verification by the superintendent of the RTO

    • The vehicle registration would be approved by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer

    • A registration number would be allotted, and a confirmation for the same would be sent to the registered mobile number.

    • RTO would send Smart Registration Certificate Book to the applicant's registered address. 

List of documents required for Vehicle Registration at RTO Vadodara

    The following documents are required to be submitted at the RTO for vehicle registration at RTO Vadodara: 

    • Form 20: application form for registration of the new vehicle

    • Form 22: Roadworthiness certificate of the vehicle

    • As per the Supreme Court's order, it is now mandatory for people buying a car to purchase a third party car insurance with a three-year policy tenure. On the other hand, a 5-year third party bike insurance policy is compulsory for new two-wheeler registration. However, suppose a bike owner opts for a comprehensive two wheeler insurance policy, we offer package cover with one year of own damage and five years of third party cover. If a person opts for a comprehensive car insurance policy for a private car, we offer a bundled policy of one year of own damage and three years of third-party cover.

Frequently Asked Questions on RTO Vadodara

The office timing for RTOs in Vadodara is from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
You can check and pay traffic e-challan online using various digital payment options of Vadodara traffic police. You don't need to visit the traffic department office to pay challan and can do it online in simple steps as illustrated below: 
• Visit the official website of the traffic police of Vadodara (https://vadodaraechallan.co.in/)
• Fill in your vehicle number on the homepage of the website
• Click on ‘GO’, and the list of pending challans on your vehicle will appear on the screen
• Select the relevant challan that you want to pay and enter your license number
• Filling your mobile number and email ID
• Click on ‘Pay Now and the payment gateway will be opened
• Select the relevant payment method, such as card, net banking, or e-wallet
• Once the payment is made, a receipt will be generated as an acknowledgment of the clearance of the challan.

Yes, learners’ tests can be given online, but at the relevant RTO to which the application for issuance of a driving license is made. The test cannot be given at home. The applicant has to visit the RTO and appear for the test online in the presence of an inspector who would declare the correct results of the test only after which the license would be issued. 
The cost depends on the VIP number that you want. It starts from Rs.2 lakhs and goes up to Rs.5 lakhs.
