How to Register Vehicles at RTO Indore?

    You can register your vehicle at RTO Indore both offline by visiting the local RTO or online through the official website of RTO Madhya Pradesh. You also can register your new vehicle with RTO Indore through your vehicle's dealer. In all three processes, you must submit relevant documents along with the application form and pay registration fees. Here are the steps to register your vehicle by visiting the local RTO:

    • Visit RTO Indore office or you may discover the RTO details at http://www.transport.mp.gov.in/about-us/officers-directory.

    • Application forms (Form 21, Form 22, and Form 22A) must be submitted along with the required paperwork. The application forms are available at the RTO and can be downloaded and printed.

    • The applicable charge must be paid when the papers and application forms have been turned in.

    • The forms must include both the engine number and chassis number.

    • The registration number will be accessible to you when the inspection is finished.

    •The Registration Certificate (RC) will be available for collection at the RTO.

    Before arranging the following documents for successful vehicle registration at RTO Indore, buy a motor insurance policy for your vehicle. A copy of your vehicle’s insurance policy is necessary before going for registration

    Proof of Identity like your Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, etc.

    • Invoice for the car you want to register.

    • Photocopy of your PAN card

    • Sample 22 and sample 22A: Roadworthiness certificate

    • Purchase payment for two/four-wheeler vehicles

    • Temporary registration certificate for vehicles purchased from any other region

    •Valid No-Objection Certificate for vehicles which are purchased outside Indore

    • A car insurance policy is compulsory for car registration, while two wheeler insurance is mandatory to register a bike or scooter. As per the Supreme Court’s order, it is a must for people buying a car to purchase a three-year bundled third party car insurance policy. On the other hand, a 5-year third party bike insurance policy is mandatory for new two-wheeler registration. However, the policy tenure will be three years for a comprehensive bike insurance policy.

    • Copy of current automobile insurance. You may get vehicle insurance online to save time.

    • The dealer-issued temporary registration form.

    • The receipt of registration fees.

Functions of Indore RTO

RTO Indore's primary function is to ensure that the public strictly follows the laws and regulations prescribed under the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988. In addition, RTO Indore has the significant function of enforcing the Motor Vehicles Act. RTOs are significant in the city's smooth transportation and other traffic-related services. It ensures that every vehicle plying on the roads of Indore is registered with it and every driver driving the vehicle has obtained a valid driving licence. RTO Indore also provides other functions, which are listed as follows:

Vehicle-Related Services
RTO Indore oversees all the services related to vehicles, such as the issue of temporary and permanent registration certificates, renewal and cancellation. It also deals with the transfer of vehicle ownership, recording of the lease, hypothecation, hire purchase in the registration certificate, change of details such as an address, name or state, providing no objection certificate for transfer of a vehicle or issuing fitness certificate to the vehicle to make it eligible to ply on the roads of Indore. If you have lost your registration certificate, you can also apply to RTO to issue a duplicate one.

Providing permits
If you want to travel from Indore to another state and vice versa, you would have to take a permit from the respective RTOs. RTO Indore issues various other permits such as stage carrier permits, special permits, permits for professional driving instructions, school buses, commercial vehicles, tour vehicles, etc. RTO also issues National permits to commercial goods carrying vehicles from one state to another, passenger-carrying vehicles like taxis, rental cabs, radio taxis, etc. and all India tourist permits.

Issues Driving License
Before driving a vehicle, every individual needs to take a driving licence. RTOs are responsible for issuing a driving licence after conducting a different test to ensure the individual is eligible to drive the vehicle and is not a threat to other public. RTOs can issue a temporary driving licence, permanent driving licence, learner's license, and duplicate driving licence. It can also issue driving licences for professional coaching, motor driving schools, bus conductors, etc. You can also approach RTO Indore to change your address or other details in your driving licence or add a new vehicle to it. Further, RTOs can also issue international driving licences to eligible applicants.

Maintenance of Database

Indore RTO maintains the registered vehicles' database, along with the owner's details. It also maintains all the details of the transfer of registration to other states and the renewal of certificates and licenses.

Regional Transport offices implement conversion LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) conversion from diesel or petrol to keep pollution under control and safeguard the environment. It also implements a testing centre for all Indore’s pollution under-control centres.

It also maintains all the databases related to the registered vehicles, which are transferred to another state and renewal of registered vehicles. and ₹500 for delay of every month or part thereof

Frequently Asked Questions on RTO Indore

Earlier, you used to get a temporary registration number which had to be displayed on your vehicle. Your actual registration number arrives on your registered mobile number in less than seven days.
You can get your RCs through the post or download your registration certificate from the mParivahan website..
As mentioned by the regional transport officer of Indore, a separate counter is made at the RTO office for people who haven't received their vehicle registration certificate.

As said by the government, automobile dealers must complete the registration formalities within a week of selling that vehicle, or else a fine could be levied on them.

Or you can also do the RTO registration process on your own. Here are the steps you must follow to do the RTO registration by yourself:

1. Take your newly purchased vehicle to your nearest RTO office.

2. Fill out the required form and provide all the required documents.

3. Once the forms are checked, you must pay your new vehicle's registration fee. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles will then inspect

your vehicle at the RTO office.

4. After the inspection is complete, the RTO will upload your vehicle's details to their central database.

5. The RTO superintendent will verify the vehicle details. If they are correct, then your vehicle registration will be approved by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO).

6. Once the approval is given, the RTO will begin printing the Registration Certificate or the smart card of your vehicle. It will be couriered to you within a week or two after completing the registration process.

Yes, it is possible to register the vehicle in another city after buying it in another, though you must have the address proof. You can also get your vehicle temporarily registered in the city where you bought the car, Bhopal, and then later get the permanent registration in Indore RTO. If you get registration in Bhopal, then you may follow the following steps are required to transfer your car registration to Indore:

1. Obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bank.

3. Do the registration process in Indore.

4. You can file for a refund of the road tax paid in Bhopal.

5. How to retrieve a lost License in Indore?

You may have misplaced your driving license, or it gets stolen or broken by chance. You need not worry about it, and you can carry out the following steps to get a duplicate license in Indore.

· You can easily apply for a duplicate driving permit online on the official website: www.mptransport.org/MPTS/Default.htm

· After opening the website, choose 'license appointment'.

· Click on 'duplicate driving license.

· Enter the number of your driving license and your date of birth.

· Fill in all the details required in 'applicant details'.

· Visit your nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO) office with your original documents.

· Once the RTO office verifies the documents, your duplicate driving license will be sent to you at your registered address.

· An application from LLD.
