The government has made it mandatory for central government employees enrolled under central government health scheme to link their CGHS beneficiary id with their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA ID). This directive comes from the Department of Health & Family Welfare under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, stated in an official memorandum dated March 28, 2024.
The linking has become a mandatory affair starting April 1, 2024. Existing beneficiaries need to complete this process within 30 days. This move is done to streamline the management of health records. Linking to the ABHA ID simplifies the process of keeping track of health records in ine place for easy accessibility. The government websites have a detailed process and step-by-step guide to help one link the beneficiary id with ABHA Id. To maintain a high level of data security it is ensured that data is only shared among healthcare information providers and users with explicit approval of the individual to whom the data pertains.
