Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a large-scale scam campaign leveraging Facebook advertisements to lure unsuspecting users to fake websites. Disguised as legitimate e-commerce platforms and brand websites, these malicious sites aim to steal personal data, including credit card information. The campaign, dubbed "ERIAKOS," is particularly concerning due to its use of mobile-only websites, potentially bypassing security measures on traditional desktop browsers. Recorded Future, the research team behind the discovery, identified hundreds of fake websites linked to the campaign, targeting users with seemingly attractive deals on popular brands.
