FAQs on COVID-19 related Claims

Yes. Your health insurance policies with HDFC ERGO covers hospitalisation expenses to Corona Virus (COVID-19) subject to all terms and conditions of the policy.
Admissibility criteria will be defined by medical management protocols for treatment, evaluation and quarantine suggested by Government along with the terms and conditions of the Health Insurance Product.
Quarantine is covered if associated with treatment in a registered medical facility as per the terms and conditions of the Health Insurance Product. Quarantine just for isolation without any treatment is not covered.
When there is hospitalization for the treatment of COVID-19, confirmatory test will be covered as part of hospitalization and pre/post hospitalization claim.
Customer can take cashless in a network hospital while hospitalized or can file for reimbursement after discharge from the Hospital.
Extension of policy cover is not permitted under motor insurance, in case the renewal of motor policy is missed prior to policy expiry the policy is considered to lapse. However, as a considering the COVID-19 situation special relaxation has been permitted offering continuity of policy coverage motor third policies expiring between 25th March 2020 to 3rd May 2020, Customer can renew such policies with continuity of cover up to 15th May 2020.
Motor comprehensive policies cover the accidental damages in non-moving vehicles as well. Damages caused due to rodent bite is also covered in our motor comprehensive policy.
The grace period for renewal of policies falling due during the lockdown period between 25.03.2020 to 03.05.2020 is extended upto 15.05.2020 for payment of premium without losing continuity benefit.

This policy aims at covering hospitalisation, pre-post hospitalisation, home care treatment expenses and AYUSH treatment in case anyone is tested positive of Covid-19 infection. It is a standard health insurance plan designed to cover medical expenses arising due to Coronavirus Pandemic. With this standard health insurance plan for Coronavirus you don’t have to pay for the medical bills and get access to quality medical treatments.
