Recent sightings of test mules suggest that TVS Motor Company is prepared to introduce its eagerly awaited Apache RTX 300 adventure tourer. The motorcycle marks a major advancement for TVS in the expanding ADV market. It was initially displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January.
The RTX 300 is equipped with a brand-new 299cc liquid-cooled RTX D4 engine that was developed wholly in-house by TVS, replacing the old 312cc motor that was obtained from BMW. This new powertrain, which is mated to a six-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch technology, produces 35 horsepower and 28.5 Nm of torque.
The motorcycle's design places more emphasis on road travel than on extreme off-road capabilities. It has 17-inch rear and 19-inch front alloy wheels with road-biased tires, along with a moderate suspension travel that is more appropriate for comfortable long-distance riding than strenuous trail riding.
A color TFT display, several riding modes, switchable ABS, and traction control are anticipated to be among the premium features. Comfort during touring is emphasized by the wide seating configuration, big windscreen, and upright riding position.
