Domestic Two Wheelers Witness Sales Growth by 14% in October 2024

As per the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM), the total domestic two-wheeler sales in India in October 2024 were 21,64,276 units. This accounts for a 14.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to October 2023, when 18,95,799 two-wheelers were sold in India. In October 2024, domestic sales of scooters, motorcycles, and mopeds stood at 7,21,200, 13,90,696, and 52,380, respectively.

SIAM's data also states that Indian two-wheeler manufacturers produced 7,18,807 scooters, 16,41,258 motorcycles, and 51,974 mopeds in October 2024. Last year, the production of scooters, motorcycles, and mopeds stood at 6,26,361, 14,54,106, and 47,651, respectively. The production of scooters in October 2024 increased by 14.8%, motorcycles by 12.9%, and mopeds by 9.1%.

The Total two-wheeler exports from India also increased by 25.4% last month. SIAM's data reveals that two wheeler manufacturers exported 3,65,242 units overseas compared to 2,91,276 units in October 2023. Scooter exports in October 2024 stood at 43,365, and motorcycle exports at 3,20,459.
