Bajaj Auto plans to add a new high-end electric three-wheeler, called the GoGo, to its lineup. It will have advanced lithium-ion battery technology. The company has made a lot of progress in the e-rickshaw market; just three months after launching the GoGo brand, it was at the top of the sales charts.
The new model will come with two battery pack choices:
• A bigger 12.1 kWh pack with a range of 251 km
• A smaller 9.2 kWh pack with a range of 176 km
The e-rickshaw will have high-end features like a two-speed transmission, an auto danger system, anti-roll recognition, hill hold assist, LED lights, and a strong metal frame.
The GoGo name is very famous right now in northern and eastern India, where it competes with well-known brands like Mahindra's Treo Yaari and a number of new companies based in those areas. The new luxury model is likely to cost more than the current GoGo P7012 model, which costs Rs. 3.83 lakh outside of showrooms.
Bajaj Auto hopes to sell 40,000 e-rickshaws as it scales up operations and improves last-mile connecting options across India's growing electric mobility market.
