Visa Reforms Ignite 60% Surge in Indian Travel Interest to the Philippines

The Philippines has witnessed a remarkable 60% increase in travel interest from Indian tourists between June and August 2025, as per Booking.com data. This surge aligns with the country’s recent visa reforms, which introduced 14-day and 30-day visa-free entry options for Indian nationals. The move has significantly eased travel procedures, making the Philippines a more accessible and attractive destination for Indian travelers.

Top searched destinations among Indian tourists include Manila, known for its vibrant culture; El Nido, famed for its pristine beaches; and Cebu City, offering a blend of urban charm and historical sites. Santosh Kumar, Country Manager for India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Indonesia at Booking.com, noted that the simplified visa processes, coupled with a growing desire for experiential travel, are encouraging Indians to explore culturally rich international destinations like the Philippines. Industry experts believe that these visa waiver initiatives, especially amidst current geopolitical situations affecting travel dynamics, offer a significant advantage for travelers, positioning the Philippines as a fresh and appealing alternative for Indian tourists.
