Tragic Air India Flight 171 Crash in Ahmedabad

An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, flight AI 171, en route to London Gatwick, tragically crashed on June 12, 2025, just five minutes after departing from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members, plunged into the residential area of Meghani Nagar, sending plumes of thick black smoke into the sky. Emergency services, including firefighters and medical teams, are on site conducting extensive rescue and relief operations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu have expressed their devastation and are monitoring the situation closely. The Ahmedabad airport has been temporarily shut down, and all flight operations are suspended. Further details on casualties and the cause of the crash are awaited as investigations begin.
