India Issues Fresh 'Do Not Travel' Advisory for Iran Despite Limited Flight Resumption

In a fresh advisory issued on April 23, 2026, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has strongly cautioned Indian nationals against travelling to Iran, even as limited flight services between the two countries have resumed. Citing continued regional tensions, airspace restrictions, and operational uncertainties, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has advised Indians “not to travel to Iran, whether by air or land.”

The embassy has also urged all Indian citizens currently in Iran to leave the country at the earliest through designated land border routes, strictly coordinating with embassy officials for safety. This advisory comes in continuation of previous warnings issued amid the volatile situation in the region. Travellers and residents are advised to closely monitor official MEA updates and exercise extreme caution before planning any travel.
