Delta and International Travel Boom

As of December 6, 2023, Delta Air Lines was expecting a strong start to 2024, riding on the wave of increasing international travel demand. This optimism was based on the observation that consumers were spending more on experiences rather than material goods. The airline reported substantial revenue during the Thanksgiving period and was anticipating a similarly strong performance for the Christmas season. Advanced travel bookings, especially across the transatlantic routes, were showing considerable strength for January and February, with an expected further increase into March. This positive outlook by Delta also positively influenced the stock prices of its competitors, reflecting broader industry confidence in the recovery and growth of international travel.
