Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a recall for select Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUVs sold in India due to a potential issue with the instrument cluster. The recall affects 11,529 vehicles manufactured between December 9, 2024, and April 29, 2025, where the fuel gauge may display incorrect readings. This follows a similar recall for the SUV’s rebadged counterpart, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Dealership representatives will reach out to affected owners to schedule inspections and carry out necessary replacements. Toyota has emphasised that the process will be conducted efficiently to minimise inconvenience and ensure customer confidence. Vehicle owners can also check if their SUV is impacted by visiting toyotabharat.com/q-service/safety-recall and entering their vehicle details.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered in multiple powertrains, including petrol, CNG and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), with prices ranging from Rs 10.94 lakh to Rs 19.76 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV also offers all-wheel drive, making it a versatile choice for urban and semi-off-road driving. Despite the recall, Toyota reassures customers that these measures are precautionary and intended to maintain safety and reliability across all affected models.
