Due to rising fuel prices and global tensions between the US and Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked citizens to reduce fuel usage and travel more responsibly.
Speaking at a public event in Hyderabad, he highlighted that the global energy crisis is affecting many countries, including India. He urged people to take small but responsible steps, similar to what was seen during the COVID-19 period.

PM Modi advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, use public transport, and opt for carpooling. He also encouraged people to consider electric vehicles (EVs) as a better and more sustainable option. In addition, he suggested working from home and using virtual meetings to cut down on travel and fuel consumption.

He further requested people to limit non-essential spending like gold purchases and foreign travel, and instead promote domestic tourism.

What This Means for Vehicle Owners and Motor Insurance

Driving less and choosing safer travel options can reduce the chances of accidents and damage. This can help lower repair costs and maintain a good claim record. Fewer claims may help policyholders benefit from No Claim Bonus (NCB) and stable insurance premiums over time.

Using electric vehicles may reduce running costs over time. However, always drive with an active car insurance policy to stay protected against accidental damages.
