With the introduction of the Model Y SUV, Tesla has made its eagerly awaited debut in the Indian electric car market. The Model Y is a fully assembled vehicle with remarkable specs, and it is priced at Rs. 59.89 lakh for the Standard RWD model and Rs. 67.89 lakh for the Long Range RWD (ex-showroom).
While the Long Range variant can reach up to 622 kilometers and complete the the Standard variant gives 500 km of range. With a 15.4-inch central touchscreen and Tesla's signature minimalist style, both models have a top speed of 201 km/h.
16 Supercharger stations are part of Tesla's infrastructure growth in India; the first ones are going to be set up in Delhi and Mumbai. With these 250kWh charging stations, the Long Range model can increase its range by 267 kilometers in just 15 minutes.
The Hyundai IONIQ 5, BMW iX1, Kia EV6, and other high-end electric SUVs are direct competitors of the India-spec Model Y. Delivery of the standard model starts this quarter, while Long Range will follow in October.
