PATA Charts New Course for Sustainable Tourism at 74th Annual Summit

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has embarked on a strategic renewal following its 74th Annual Summit in Istanbul. The organization introduced a new vision—“A meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy”—underscoring its commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and culturally respectful tourism practices. This vision aims to foster positive change by honoring diversity, empowering communities, and preserving cultural heritage.

Complementing this vision, PATA’s revised mission focuses on facilitating knowledge exchange, enhancing networking opportunities, and safeguarding tourism economic assets through innovation, collaboration, and adaptability. This strategic direction is designed to strengthen PATA’s network and promote responsible tourism initiatives. To lead this transformative agenda, PATA welcomed three new Executive Board members: Dr. Chuwit Mitrchob from Thailand’s DASTA, Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor from Malaysia’s Sarawak Tourism Board, and Raki Phillips from Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.
