India’s Top Intelligence Units Join Forces to Tackle Cyber Fraud

India has taken a major step toward a "whole-of-government" approach to cybersecurity by formalizing a partnership between the FIU-IND (Ministry of Finance) and the I4C (Ministry of Home Affairs). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Director Amit Mohan Govil and CEO Rajesh Kumar, marks the end of departmental silos in the fight against financial fraud.

Under this pact, the two agencies will integrate their intelligence systems, linking the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) with financial analysis databases. This will allow for the real-time identification of "red flag" indicators and faster asset recovery for victims. As India's digital payment ecosystem continues to grow, this collaboration ensures that banks and law enforcement can communicate instantly to block fraudulent accounts and track money trails across state lines. The move is designed to make the banking system a hostile environment for scammers while safeguarding millions of digital transactions made daily.
