In response to a significant data breach, the Madras High Court has instructed Star Health and Allied Insurance Co to collaborate with Telegram by providing specific details of the leaked customer data. This measure aims to enable Telegram to identify and remove chatbots disseminating sensitive information, such as medical and tax records, which were leaked by a hacker. Telegram’s legal representative, Thriyambak Kannan, confirmed the platform’s willingness to delete the offending chatbots once Star Health supplies the necessary information. The court has scheduled the next hearing in two weeks to assess the progress of these actions.
