Government boosts cyber safety in Indian cities

Following a series of cyberattacks called Operation Sindoor, the Indian government is now focusing on making cities more prepared for online threats. Agencies like CERT-IN and the National Cyber Crime Centre will start training city officials to deal with digital attacks on essential services like electricity, transport, and water supply.

To keep these efforts going, local teams under the Smart Cities Mission will now also work on cyber safety. These teams will help manage digital risks and ensure city systems stay secure in the future.

As more services go online, protecting them from hackers has become a top priority. The goal is to help cities stay one step ahead of threats, avoid service disruptions, and respond quickly when needed. With training, support, and regular monitoring, the government hopes to make urban infrastructure safer and smarter.
