Rising Health Concerns 20 Of Young Indians Prediabetic 70 Face Vitamin D Deficiency

According to a recent health report, nearly 1 in 5 Indians in their 20s are prediabetic. Prediabetes is a situation in which blood sugar levels remain above the normal range but are not high enough to be classed as diabetes. This simply means that a person is at risk of developing diabetes and related health issues.
The report also highlights that about 70% of young adults do not have adequate levels of vitamin D. It is a vital nutrient that helps the body to use calcium for strengthening bones and is required for good immune function. Doctors mention that such vitamin deficiencies are becoming normal, thereby creating worries about people's health in general.
These findings are based on the analysis of over three million preventive health checks conducted in 2025. The report not only underlined a surge in prediabetes but also showed that there are more and more cases of young people having health conditions that they are unaware of.
According to the report, about 2 out of 3 people aged below 30 lack adequate strength, flexibility, or body balance. Such handicaps are linked to a higher chance of developing heart-related illnesses, an increased probability of getting injured in a fall, and possibly a shorter life span.
Health experts attribute these trends to various modern lifestyle factors, such as inactivity, lack of physical activity, and inadequate sunlight. Rising numbers of prediabetics and the majority of the population being vitamin D-deficient indicate the necessity of healthcare at the earliest and implementation of preventive measures.
Doctors point out that conducting regular health check-ups, eating a well-balanced diet and having sufficient physical activity are essential to counter these health hazards. Getting enough vitamin D from the sun and eating a vitamin D-rich diet can be very helpful in keeping one's health in good shape for the long run.
As conditions associated with the lifestyle keep growing, these results are a warning to people that it is high time for them to change their unhealthy habits and give priority to preventive healthcare.
