Sprouted Vaal (butter beans/field beans): 3 cups
Ajwain (Carom seeds): ½ tsp
Hing (Asafoetida): 1/4th tsp
Boriya Mirch (Small, rounded red chillies): 4 to 5
Kismis (Raisins): 1 tbsp
Cooking oil: 2 tbsp
Sugar: ½ tsp
Salt to taste
1. Heat the oil in a pan to make it smoking hot.
2. Add the seasonings like hing, ajwain, and red chillies.
3. Once the seeds start crackling, add the Vaal, salt, raisins, and sauté on a medium flame for up to 2 minutes.
4. Add sugar and 2 cups of water, and give it a good stir.
5. Cover and cook on a medium flame for nearly 15 minutes.
6. Check the beans with your ladle. Once they turn soft, turn the flame off.
7. Serve with steamed rice.
