Ingredients Required

Ingredients required for the malted cereal recipe are:

• Washed rice- ½ cup

• Washed ragi- ½ cup

• Moong dal- ½ cup

Steps to Prepare

The various steps to prepare malted cereals for children are:

1. Soak the rice, ragi, and moong dal in water overnight.

2. Next day, drain the water thoroughly and put the cereals in a clean muslin cloth.

3. Tie the cloth and hang it in a warm place.

4. Sprinkle some water on the cereal and leave them hanging.

5. After approximately 48 hours, baby shoots come out of the grains.

6. Next, dry roast each sprouted cereal separately.

7. Remove husks by sieving the roasted cereals.

8. Put them into a blender and grind into a smooth, fine powder.

Your malted cereal is ready for use.
