Rice: 1 Cup

Milk: 4 Cups

Sugar: 1 Cup

Green Cardamom Powder: 1 TSP

Chopped Cashew Pieces: 2 TBSP

Chopped Coconut: 2 TBSP

Scraped Coconut: 2 TBSP

Salt: 1/4 TSP

Ghee: 1-1/2 TBSP

You can change the quantity of the ingredients according to your custom ratio.

Steps to Make Khira Poda Pitha

1. Wash and soak the rice in a bowl for one hour.

2. Add the soaked rice to the grinder with the scraped coconut. Now, grind the mixture to make a smooth paste.

3. Take a heavy-bottom pan and add milk, salt, and sugar to it. Heat the pan until the sugar dissolves in the milk. Keep stirring the mixture.

4. Once the sugar is dissolved, add cardamom powder, cashew nuts, and fried chopped coconut. Let the mixture boil, and then add the prepared rice paste. Stir continuously until the paste turns thick.

5. Heat some ghee in the pressure cooker and pour the paste into it. Spread it properly and level the top. Now remove the regulator weight and cover the lid of the pressure cooker. Let the mixture cook for an hour over a slow flame.

6. Once cooked, the pitha will turn golden brown, a clear sign that it has been cooked correctly.

7. Let it cool down and serve it to your children.
