Panchamrit Recipe: Ingredients, Method & Benefits

Panchamrit is a sacred blend of five ingredients used in Hindu festivals and any ‘pujas’ at home. It is a Sanskrit word - ‘panch’ means five and ‘amrit’ means nectar. Apart from symbolising purity and spiritual unity, panchamrit is also rich in nutrients and offers numerous health benefits. Read on to know about the ingredients of panchamrit, how to make it and its many benefits.

Simple Recipe to Make Panchamrit

Ingredients

• Milk – ½ cup

• Thick Curd – 2 tbsp

• Sugar – ½ tbsp

• Honey – ½ tsp

• Ghee – ¼ tsp

The five ingredients are said to represent the five elements of nature – air, water, earth, fire, and space. The quantity of the ingredients can be customised as per individual tastes, and you can also add tulsi leaves (optional) for garnishing.

Method

Take a bowl. Mix all 5 ingredients and whisk well. Garnish with tulsi leaves if desired. Panchamrit is now ready. Since Panchamrit has curd, it should be consumed within 3 to 4 hours.
