Steps to perform

The Shavasana pose may seem to be simple, but it is quite difficult to perform this asana to perfection. Here are the steps to do this asana the right way:

• Lie down on a yoga mat or the ground. Refrain from using cushions or pillows in this asana. Your face and the ceiling should be parallel to each other, and your environment should be very quiet and pleasant.

• Your legs should be kept slightly apart, while your toes should face sideways. Ensure your legs are in a completely relaxed position.

• Keep both your arms on the sides of your body, but not too close. Leave your palms open and let them face upwards.

• Close your eyes to focus on your breathing patterns and your entire body movements, from your toes to your head. Don’t let your mind drift away to any other thought during this phase.

• Continue with your inhalation and exhalation for about 15 minutes, as you become increasingly aware of your body.

• After 15 minutes, you will feel relaxed physically and mentally.

• Gently roll on one side before coming to the sitting asana.

• Slowly open your eyes and become aware of your environment.

Always seek medical help for health issues, and use asanas to support your recovery and well-being. Based on the severity of your condition, your medical expenses can vary, and your savings can take a hit. That’s why investing in a good health insurance plan is a prudent financial decision. Choosing the right plan can help you get complete coverage of your medical costs, such as treatment costs, hospitalisation charges, medicines and more.
