The embassy is currently managed by the current Ambassador of India to Vietnam, H. E Mr Pranay Kumar Verma who started his term in October of 2019. The embassy staff comprises diplomatic, administrative and technical officers who are representatives of various Indian government departments.

Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City

Besides the embassy in Hanoi, India has a Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to take care of the southern region of Vietnam. The consulate began operating in the current building in 1997.

Indian Consulate in Danang

Currently, there is only one new Indian diplomatic mission in Vietnam, the Consulate General office in Danang city that has not been officially opened yet and will be opened in the near future soon in 2023.

Danang is one of the largest economic centres in the central coastal region of Vietnam. To enhance the Act East policy of India and strengthen the bond with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries, it was agreed to establish a new consulate in Danang.

The consulate office at Danang is to foster bilateral trade, investment, tourism and education technology relations between India and Central Vietnam. It will also offer consular, passport and visa services and will engage in business and community liaison.
