What Causes Chlamydia Infection?

• The bacteria, known by the name of chlamydia trachomatis, is the chief reason behind this infection.

• This bacterium can spread from one person to another mainly through sexual contact.

• Unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex with multiple partners can lead to transmission of the chlamydia infection.

• Women are at a greater risk of this infection than men.

• Sharing used and unwashed sex toys can also spread the infection from one person to another.

• Genital contact is another reason behind the chlamydia infection

The main symptoms associated with this infection include stinky vaginal discharge (in the case of women), discharge from the penis (in the case of men), burning sensation during urination, testicular pain and inflammation (in men), vaginal bleeding in women post-intercourse, bleeding between periods (in women).
