Is your baby due to arrive anytime soon? This period can be exciting and nervous for you. While you are excited to see your bundle of joy, you are equally anxious about getting things ready for your baby’s arrival. As a new parent, all you need to do is plan well and sort out some basics as a little planning can give your baby a safe and healthy atmosphere. Read on to know more about some mandatory tasks you should do in terms of house checks before the baby is born.

Checklist of Tasks to Complete Before Your Baby is Born

• Baby Proofing

This is one of the first to do house checks before the baby is born. Time flies when your baby is home, and before you understand, your newborn will have started to crawl. Hence, it is only prudent to check off the following tasks as part of babyproofing:

- Installing safe baby gates

- Fixing broken furniture

- Setting locks for cabinets

- Keeping electrical sockets well-concealed

- Keeping dangerous objects out of reach

• Get the Nursery Ready

You can get to the bells and whistles later! However, preparing the basics of your baby’s nursery is important. This includes choosing the right cradle, bed, bedding, and other furniture.

• Get Your Baby’s Wardrobe Ready

Even if you don’t know the gender of your baby yet, you can still get the closet ready. The initial few weeks will go off in a daze, and you won’t have time to buy clothes for your baby at the last minute. Stack your baby’s closet with a few sets of onesies, burp clothes, towels, wipes, diapers, and everything else you need for at least a few months.

• Get Your House Deep-Cleaned

In case of pest infestations in your home or locality, you should get your house deep-cleaned by professionals. Get rid of the pests in every nook and cranny of your home to provide your baby with a safe and healthy atmosphere. Also, remove unnecessary things and keep your home clutter-free.

• Keep Nursing Essentials Ready

Stock up on a few nursing essentials to help you transition smoothly upon your baby's arrival. Breast pumps, milk bottles, storage containers, and other essentials should be purchased beforehand to avoid any hassles.
