Also, once home the initial six to eight weeks of motherhood require special attention. 1. Rest

After childbirth, getting plenty of rest is important as it helps the body to recuperate and also helps in gettingaccustomed tothe new normal. With the need to feed every few hours, getting a long, uninterrupted sleep is severely compromised and hence it is recommended that the mother should take a nap every time the baby is sleeping.
