Here is the step-by-step guide that beginners need to follow to perfect the techniques of Vrikshasana:
• Stand straight and tall. Let your arms remain by your sides.
• Gradually bend your left knee. Your left foot should be kept on, or on the inside of your right thigh. Keep your right foot firmly grounded on the mat.
• While standing on your right leg, bring your hands forward in a folded, prayer position.
• Breathe deeply, and slowly raise your hands upward with your palms still in a prayer position.
• Hold this pose for 20 seconds or so.
• Bring down your hands slowly as you exhale after 20 seconds. Bring your left foot down and get back to your starting pose.
• Repeat the asana with the other leg.
