At HDFC ERGO, we believe that education is the foundation of sustainable development. Our flagship initiative Gaon Mera focuses on the holistic transformation of rural government schools by enhancing infrastructure and creating vibrant learning
environments. With 23 schools reconstructed across 14 states, we've integrated sustainable features such as solar panels, clean water facilities, and the BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) concept to foster interactive education. This program
positively impacts nearly 4,000 students annually, leading to an 18% increase in enrolment and a marked reduction in absenteeism. We also support the education of underprivileged and differently abled students, and have enabled digital infrastructure
in 100 villages across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Our inclusive approach extends to vocational skill-building for neurodivergent individuals, reinforcing our commitment to equitable access to education.
Gaon Mera: Empowering Rural Education
At HDFC ERGO, our flagship CSR initiative Gaon Mera is rooted in the belief that quality education is the cornerstone of sustainable development. Focused on rural education and development, this program is designed to uplift the standard of education
and sanitation in selected villages across India. Many government-run schools in rural areas face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of access to clean water, sanitation, electricity, and essential learning tools. Gaon Mera
aims to bridge these gaps by investing in the reconstruction of government schools, transforming them into safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environments. The schools are built using the Building As Learning Aid (BaLA) framework—an
innovative approach that integrates educational elements into the physical space to foster child-friendly, interactive learning. Each school is thoughtfully designed to ensure natural light, ventilation, and functionality. Incorporating facilities
such as classrooms with desks and green boards, dedicated libraries, computer rooms, kitchens, and dining areas wherever possible, based on the school’s specific requirements and conditions. Gaon Mera is our commitment to supporting
the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education by creating infrastructure that inspires learning and nurtures potential.

Niramaya – Advancing Rural Healthcare
Through Niramaya, HDFC ERGO is committed to strengthening the rural healthcare ecosystem and delivering critical medical support to underserved communities. We work to upgrade public healthcare infrastructure, support cancer care in remote regions—including
the North East—and sponsor life-saving surgeries such as bone marrow and cochlear transplants for children. Our mobile health units and teleclinics extend essential services to remote villages and tribal belts, improving last-mile access.
By focusing on preventive care, early diagnosis, and medical interventions, Niramaya ensures that quality healthcare is not a privilege, but a right to be accessible to all.
Roshini - Empowering Women for a Sustainable Future
Under Roshini, our women empowerment initiative, we support underprivileged women through education, livelihood generation, and entrepreneurship. From running learning centers for adolescent girls to helping 1,000 ultra-poor women in West Bengal
establish self-sustaining income sources, the program fosters long-term resilience. We promote women-led climate-resilient agricultural practices, offer solar-powered livelihood tools, and provide targeted training in entrepreneurship and
healthcare, including the upskilling of grassroots health workers to Asha workers. Roshini reflects our belief that empowering women is key to driving inclusive community development
Supath - Driving Road Safety and Awareness Future
Supath, our road safety initiative, is aimed at creating safer roads and saving lives. We adopt a multi-faceted approach encompassing infrastructure enhancement, awareness campaigns, and post-accident support. A key highlight is our partnership
with Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), where we provide road safety training—including simulator-based learning—to new license applicants. By fostering responsible driving behavior and strengthening road safety infrastructure,
Supath aligns with our vision of building safer communities and reducing road fatalities through meaningful, measurable interventions
