Software giant ServiceNow announced a major strategic acquisition, agreeing to buy cybersecurity startup Armis for $7.75 billion in cash — marking the largest deal in the company’s history. The deal, due to close in the second half of 2026, will enhance ServiceNow’s cybersecurity capabilities by integrating Armis’ asset discovery, threat detection and vulnerability prioritisation tools directly into its AI-powered workflow and security platform.
Armis, founded in 2015 and backed by investors including Alphabet’s CapitalG and Goldman Sachs, specialises in managing cyber risks across IT, operational technology and medical devices, areas increasingly targeted by sophisticated attacks as AI adoption grows globally. ServiceNow’s move comes amid surging demand for proactive, automated cybersecurity solutions and follows a series of acquisitions in 2025 aimed at expanding its AI and security offerings. While investors initially reacted cautiously with a share dip, analysts say the Armis acquisition positions ServiceNow to lead in integrated security and risk management for enterprises worldwide.
