Know Your Maruti Suzuki Premium: Third Party vs. Own Damage

If you want to buy Maruti Insurance, you can choose HDFC ERGO for hassle free claims. In addition to this, we have a network of 6700+ cashless networked garages. If your Maruti insurance renewal is due for expiry, you should buy your policy now. Here’s how you can do that:

Third-Party (TP) plans are designed to protect you against financial and legal liabilities in the case of an accident. Getting a third-party plan for your Maruti car is essential to avoid penalties and cover your finances against third-party claims. Above all, it is a reasonably priced policy for all. Wondering how? Well, based on the cubic capacity of every vehicle, the IRDAI predefines the third-party premium, making it aligned and affordable for all Maruti Suzuki car owners.

Own Damage (OD) insurance for your Maruti car, on the other hand, is optional but highly beneficial. This cover allows you to compensate for the repair and replacement expenses in the event of an accident or natural calamities like earthquakes, fires, storms, and more. However, unlike the third-party premium, the premium for own damage for your Maruti Suzuki varies. Wondering why? Let us explain. The OD premium for your Maruti Suzuki car is usually calculated on IDV, zone, and cubic capacity. Thus, depending upon your car's specifications or which city your car is registered in, your premium will differ. The premium is also affected by the add-ons you choose with your standalone own damage cover or a bundled cover. Also, bear in mind that any modifications to your Maruti Suzuki car will result in higher premiums.
