Am I eligible for this program?
You need to:
- Be a graduate with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline.
- Be up to 25 years of age at the time of application.
- Have under 3 years of work experience.
What is the duration of this course?
The postgraduate diploma is a one-year program.
What is the selection process?
You shall be selected by HR through an online Aptitude test followed by an interview.
Online Aptitude Test
The test will assess the candidate’s proficiency in the following areas:
- Logic and reasoning skills
- English language skills
- Quantitative/numerical ability
- Personality assessment
On successfully completing the aptitude test, you will be invited for a personal interview
Will I have to sign a bond / service agreement after completing the HDFC ERGO Headstart Program?
No, you will not be required to sign a service agreement or bond to join HDFC ERGO Limited after the program.
How do I apply for the program?
You need to click the ‘Apply Now’ button and follow the instructions on the external page. Further instructions will be shared with you via emails.
Will I get a stipend during the course?
During the course, you will receive out-of-pocket expenses of INR 2,500 - every month for a period of 4 months. After which the stipend will increase to INR 10,000/- per month for 2 months. During the last 6 months, you will receive a stipend of INR 16,000/- per month. Total earnings while studying will be INR 1,26,000/-
How much is the course fee and is there any loan facility?
The course fee is INR 1,50,000 /- plus taxes for the one-year diploma.
You can choose to apply for an Education Loan through HDFC Bank. Students interested in opting for the education loan may apply for the term sum.
What happens once I am selected?
You will be issued a provisional offer letter. Once you pay the fees or have an approved education loan, you will get a confirmation letter and can report to campus on the start date of the course.
What is the salary and position provided post completion of the course?
After successful completion of the course, you will be appointed as a Sales Executive with HDFC ERGO Limited with a salary of INR 3 Lakhs per annum.
Will I have a job guarantee after the course?
Once selected, you will be given a Provisional Letter of Appointment at the time of joining the course. The job is guaranteed only if you successfully complete the program.
What if I am unsuccessful at completing the course?
You will be given an additional 3 months to achieve your goals that will be assigned to you during your OJT. Based on the performance assessment of those 3 months, your employment at HDFC ERGO will be decided.
What if I discontinue the program mid-year?
In case of dropping out of the program mid-course, fees paid for the course or any other expenses incurred with regards to the course cannot be refunded. You will need to pay off any loans taken for the course.
Will there be a probation period once the applicant joins HDFC ERGO Limited?
No, you will directly join as a confirmed employee. There is no probation period on completing the postgraduate course.
What days of the week will classes be held and what are the timings?
Classes will be held five days a week from Monday to Friday with Saturday devoted to e-learning.The class timings will be from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
What is the minimum attendance required?
90% attendance is required for all classes.
Can I take leaves during the program?
You can apply for leave with the Program Coordinator.
Apart from lectures, is there any other medium via which I will get support for the study material?
You will have lectures by industry experts, periodic interactions with leaders from HDFC ERGO Limited and library services to include access to e-library study material.
What will be the program structure?
Program delivery will be in the form of classroom lectures, tutorial discussions, seminars, laboratory work, assignments, case studies, library research projects, internship at HDFC ERGO Limited, on the job training and other exercises.
When will I get the postgraduate diploma certificate?
On completion of the program, you shall receive their postgraduate diploma certificate. On fulfilling the below requirements:
- You should take and pass each course of study as prescribed in the curriculum to earn the minimum number of credits specified for that particular course.
- You will be eligible for the diploma on completing required number of credits at the end of the program.
- You need to fulfill other academic requirements (as specified in the course of study/curriculum) like practical training, work visits, seminar, project etc.
Where will the course be conducted?
The course will be conducted at Bangalore at the Manipal Academy campus.
Is the program fully residential?
During the internship and on-the-job training, you have to make your own stay arrangements in the city/town allotted to you. We will help you with contacts of real estate brokers for accommodations.
Who is the authority in case of disputes?
The code of conduct will be imparted to you during induction. During the course, you can approach relevant people for dispute resolution.
Will there be any internet facility available on campus?
Yes, you will have access to internet and Wi-Fi, however in the classroom it is not encouraged.
